This consultation will be active from 3rd February to 7th March and is to review three different policies:
- Class 4 Gambling 'pokies' and 'Standalone TAB' - Council has proposed that the number of 'pokies' be reduced by not allowing the transfer of existing licenses or new licenses to be granted. This is called "sinking lid policy" and it balances the associated risks of gambling with freedom of choice. CODC has no Standalone TAB venues so no changes with those.
- Psychoactive Substances - Psychoactive substances include a range of drugs that have been designed to mimic established illicit drugs, such as cannabis, cocaine, MDMA and LSD. No psychoactive substances have been approved for sale under "The Psychoactive Substances Act 2013". This policy ensures that should a substance be approved, a retailer would need to apply for a license to operate from an approved location. There are no changes to the existing policy

NOTE: Minors can place submissions and speak at Council Meetings. If they are under 14 years of age, only a paper form is accepted. If they are 14, an online form is accepted too.
