How do I request maintenance of State Highways?

State Highways are roads managed at a national level and include more than just the road surface.

Rural Areas: any roading-related assets or activities where the speed limit is over 70km/h, including: 

• Road surface and shoulders,
• drainage infrastructure,
• roadside vegetation,
• wandering stock and related safety issues,
• road signs and traffic signage 

Exception: 👉 Road name signs for local roads that cross or intersect the State Highway are not included

Urban Areas (towns): all roading- related infrastructure from gutter to gutter on a State Highway, including:

• Asphlat,
• kerbs,
• drainage and stormwater,
• traffic management features,
• road signs and traffic signage.

The following streets are part of State Highways network:

• Leask Street, Omakau
• Scotland Street, Roxburgh
• Centennial Avenue, Pt Dunorling/ Kelman Street, Alexandra
• Charlemont Street, part of Pery St, Stuart St, and Northland St, Ranfurly
