The Council sets a waste management charge which contributes to environmental education, closed landfill monitoring, and districtwide waste and recycling collection activities such as public bins.
All residential land in the district is liable for this charge which is a uniform amount per rating unit. Please refer to the rating policy - Rating Policy.pdf (codc.govt.nz)
For the 2025-26 financial year - Waste Management charge (no bins) - Per property - $132.63. Everyone pays this cost, and it is separate from the bin charges.
