E-waste, or electronic waste, refers to discarded electrical or electronic devices. This includes items like:
E-waste contains valuable materials that can be recycled, such as metals and plastics, but also hazardous substances that need to be properly managed to avoid environmental pollution and health risks. Proper e-waste recycling ensures these materials are safely and effectively processed.
**Due to the rising number of fire-related incidents involving E-bikes and E-scooter batteries, we've made the decision to place a temporary hold on receiving these battery types. This is because visual inspections alone are not sufficient to guarantee the integrity or safety of the battery for marine transport, and we are therefore currently unable to ship them to our offshore recycling partners under these conditions. We are actively working to identify a solution that prioritises safety while ensuring compliance with transport and environmental regulations**
